Roads of Italy

Cookie Policy

Cookie information page for the Roads of Italy website. Last updated: 6 October 2026.

What are cookies

Cookies are small text files that websites visited by users send and record on their computer or mobile device, to be then retransmitted to the same websites during the next visit. We distinguish between technical cookies (necessary for the website function, do not require consent) and non-technical cookies (analytical, marketing or tracking) which require the user's prior consent.

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4)

With your consent to the "Analytics" category, this site uses Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd.) with IP anonymization enabled, to collect aggregate statistics about visits. The following cookies may be set:

These cookies are activated only after consent and can be revoked at any time. More information: Google Privacy Policy.

Managing consent

Upon your first visit to the site, a banner will appear to accept, reject, or customize your cookie settings. Any non-technical cookies (analytical or third-party tracking) will activate exclusively after you click "Accept".

You can modify or withdraw your consent at any time via the "Manage cookies" link located in the website footer.

Record of your consent

To be able to prove that we asked for and received your consent (Article 7(1) GDPR), each time you make a choice on the cookie banner we record: a random consent code (also saved in your browser), the date and time, your choice for each category and how you made it (accept, reject, save settings or close), the version of this policy, the page and language, the type of browser, and your IP address in pseudonymised form (a fingerprint made with a secret key, so the address itself is not stored).

The legal basis is our legal obligation to be able to demonstrate consent (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR). The record is kept on the website’s server (SiteGround, in the European Union), in a folder that cannot be reached from the internet, for 5 years, and is then deleted automatically.

We ask for your choice again every 12 months and whenever this policy changes.

Analytics cookies (Microsoft Clarity)

With your consent to the "Analytics" category, this site uses Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) to collect usage statistics, heatmaps and anonymized session recordings, in order to improve the browsing experience. The service involves a data transfer to the United States under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The following cookies may be set:

Provider notice: Microsoft Privacy Statement. Withdrawing consent for the "Analytics" category stops the collection.

Marketing cookies (Meta Pixel)

With your consent to the "Marketing" category, this site uses the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) to measure the effectiveness of campaigns, build audiences and show relevant content on Meta platforms (Facebook, Instagram). The service may involve a data transfer to the United States under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Main cookies:

Provider notice: Meta Privacy Policy. The pixel is NOT loaded without consent, and withdrawing the "Marketing" category stops it.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

Roads of Italy does not sell personal information. The Meta Pixel (marketing category) is used for advertising measurement: visitors from jurisdictions such as California can opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information at any time by rejecting or disabling marketing cookies in the cookie preferences panel. Analytics tools such as Microsoft Clarity can likewise be disabled at any time from the same panel.
